During the next several months, Beacon will be focusing on several critical strategies:
1) Outcomes- what improvement goals will Beacon commit to? What are the specific
improvement areas, percent improvement and target number of hospitals committing
to these percent improvements? What is the likely timing of these outcome improvements?
2) Measurement strategy- How will Beacon track / measure achievement of the above
outcomes? What data sources will be used? How will Beacon work with the hospitals
to ensure the date collected is reliable, while minimizing the data collection burden
on the hospitals?
3) Sustainability- How will Beacon begin to develop and test strategies for long-term
sustainability? What are potential revenue sources (e.g., course fees) and what
are plans to begin to assess their potential?
